Our Vision

Rooted in a legacy that shaped the course of Western civilization, the de’ Medici Foundation envisions a world where culture, science, peace, education, and innovation work together to uplift humanity. Inspired by the values that once made Florence the heart of the Renaissance, we believe the time has come for a new global Renaissance—one that is inclusive, ethical, and forward-looking.

Through our work in art preservation, diplomacy, education, technology, science, and culture, we are building bridges between the past and the future. Guided by the spirit of humanism, we act as patrons, protectors, and partners in creating a world where prosperity is shared, knowledge is free, peace is prioritized, and beauty is preserved.

The de’ Medici Foundation’s vision is clear: to be a catalyst for enlightenment in our time—offering leadership, support, and action in places where a new Renaissance is not only possible, but urgently needed

Our Mission

Culture

Culture & Access: A Right, Not a Privilege

For the de’ Medici Foundation, culture is not a luxury—it is a fundamental right. Just as the Medici family once made Florence the cultural heart of the Renaissance, today we are committed to bringing access to culture, knowledge, and beauty to regions of the world where it is limited or restricted.

From the Middle East to Asia, from remote villages to underserved communities in the Caribbean, we believe that exposure to art, history, and cultural dialogue is essential to building peace, identity, and prosperity.

Culture must be a priority—not an afterthought—in the political and educational agendas of nations. It is through culture that a society finds its voice, its pride, and its vision for the future.

The de’ Medici Foundation works hand-in-hand with local partners, educators, artists, and policymakers to create opportunities for learning, artistic exchange, and Renaissance-inspired renewal—because we believe that every city, every village, and every person deserves the chance to experience their own cultural rebirth.

Art

Art Preservation: Completing the Past, Inspiring the Future

Art has always been at the heart of the Medici legacy. During the Renaissance, the Medici family supported some of the greatest artists and thinkers in history—Michelangelo, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci—igniting a cultural revolution that shaped Western civilization.

Today, art preservation is one of the core pillars of the de’ Medici Foundation. Our mission goes beyond protecting what exists—we are committed to completing artistic projects that were begun during the Renaissance but left unfinished, including works initiated by the Medici family or by the artists they supported. Using original sketches, plaster models, and archival references, we will faithfully finish these masterpieces—employing the highest-quality materials such as Carrara marble and bronze, and working in the very historical sites where they began.

We believe art is a vehicle for peace, unity, and prosperity. Through cultural investment, we aim to help cities, towns, and nations spark their own “new Renaissance”—with the de’ Medici Foundation acting as guide, patron, and protector of creative rebirth.

As part of our modern mission, we also operate an art emergency rescue program. In California and across the United States, we offer free pickup and safeguarding services for artworks in danger due to natural disasters like wildfires, earthquakes, or flooding. Wherever beauty is threatened, we are ready to preserve it—for future generations to admire and be inspired by.

Science

Science & Discovery: Advancing the Human Renaissance

The de’ Medici Foundation proudly continues a centuries-old commitment to scientific advancement and human discovery. Just as the Medici family supported pioneering minds of the Renaissance—from Galileo Galilei to early medical innovators—we now collaborate with leading scientific institutions across the world to pursue breakthroughs that benefit humanity.

Our mission focuses on both the ancient and the future:

  • Finding cures for enduring illnesses such as neurological and brain disorders—including epilepsy, a condition known since antiquity and studied even in Renaissance times.

  • Partnering with top scientists and research centers to advance healthcare, neuroscience, and holistic well-being.

  • Supporting innovation in food preservation and sustainability, ensuring that the world’s growing population can access safe and nutritious resources.

  • Contributing to space exploration and the study of the universe, continuing the Medici tradition of supporting bold thinkers who seek to understand the cosmos.

We believe that science is the engine of progress, and when guided by ethics, purpose, and compassion, it becomes a vital tool to uplift society and protect the future of our planet.

Education

Education: Empowerment Through Knowledge

Education has always been a pillar of the Medici legacy. From funding the first libraries and universities during the Renaissance to contributing to international education standards through collaboration with the United Nations, the de’ Medici family has long believed in the power of learning to transform lives.

Today, the De Medici Foundation is committed to making education free and accessible to anyone who seeks it—regardless of background, geography, or status.

We believe that knowledge is power, and that in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, it is more urgent than ever to equip people with the tools to understand, adapt, and thrive. From literacy to leadership, from art history to coding, we aim to offer educational resources that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and purpose.

In partnership with academic institutions, online platforms, and global organizations, we work to build new models of open, inclusive, and future-ready education—honoring the past while preparing minds for what’s ahead.

Philanthropy

Philanthropy as the Future of Business

Rooted in the Medici legacy of prosperity and innovation, the de’ Medici Foundation embraces a bold, modern philosophy:
“Venture Capitalism for Philanthropic Profit.”

In the Renaissance, the Medici family revolutionized commerce, banking, and the arts—investing in culture, ideas, and people. Today, we believe the next great transformation will come through a similar model: investing in companies and initiatives that generate not only financial returns, but also meaningful social impact.

We envision a future in which every serious company includes a philanthropic division as part of its core mission—not as charity, but as strategic responsibility. At the De Medici Foundation, we support and partner with ventures that align economic growth with humanitarian progress.

Prosperity is sustainable only when it benefits the broader world. Our commitment is to help shape a global economy where doing good and doing well go hand in hand.

Technology

Technology & Innovation: Preserving Wisdom, Protecting Legacy

The Renaissance was an age of discovery, and the Medici family stood at the forefront—supporting advances in science, art, and knowledge that transformed the world. Today, the de’ Medici Foundation continues this legacy by embracing modern technology as a force for preservation, protection, and progress.

We are committed to using the most advanced technologies to safeguard cultural and intellectual heritage—and to prevent its misuse in a rapidly changing world.

One of our flagship initiatives involves the use of nanotechnology to preserve knowledge at an unprecedented scale. Through our collaboration with experts in this field, we aim to engrave entire libraries—such as the complete archive of the Vatican—onto a single nano-coin that is indestructible, even in the face of nuclear catastrophe. This coin would represent the ultimate capsule of human wisdom, secured for future generations no matter what challenges may come.

From digital archives to biometric protection, from blockchain authentication to emergency data capsules, technology is one of our most vital allies in building a bridge between the past and the future.

Stability

Stability and Diplomacy: A Legacy of Peace

Throughout history, the de’ Medici family was known not only for its patronage of the arts and sciences but also for creating a political model based on equilibrium. Under Medici leadership, Florence experienced a rare period of peace, prosperity, and economic growth—marked by diplomacy over conflict and stability over chaos.

Today, the De Medici Foundation is committed to continuing this legacy by supporting peacebuilding efforts in regions affected by war and political instability. As a globally respected family name, the De Medici voice carries symbolic and diplomatic weight.

Lorenzo de’ Medici, fluent in five languages, acts as a modern ambassador for dialogue, actively engaging in high-level conversations aimed at reconciliation and cooperation. One of the foundation’s key focus areas is fostering stronger relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, where we collaborate with some of the world’s most respected peacemakers and institutions.

Our vision is to create real spaces for dialogue—bringing together leaders, thinkers, and communities to work toward sustainable peace.

Prosperity

Prosperity: Sharing the Secrets of a Thousand Years

For over a thousand years, the Medici family has guarded the principles of prosperity—rooted in balance, strategy, cultural investment, and human dignity. From banking to patronage, from diplomacy to trade, the Medici built a model of flourishing that transformed Florence into a beacon of wealth and beauty.

Today, the de’ Medici Foundation is committed to sharing this ancient wisdom with those who need it most.

We believe that prosperity is not only about wealth—it is about knowledge, opportunity, and self-determination. That’s why we focus on teaching individuals and communities how to improve their lives, combining Medici-inspired values with modern tools in finance, entrepreneurship, and social innovation.

We are ready to open the vault—to offer the Medici secrets of prosperity to those who have been left behind, and to guide them toward sustainable growth, confidence, and freedom.

Because real power lies not in holding on to knowledge, but in giving it freely to help others rise.
